I’VE BOOKED MY TICKET. I booked a ticket to Hawaii, the first stop on my trip around the world. On Labor Day of this year, September 3, I’ll be flying from Chicago to Honolulu. My sister Heather will be joining me, and we’ll spend time on Oahu and the Big Island for two glorious weeks. Then Heather will head back home and I’ll carry on to Australia. I’m super excited and more than a little scared that I’ve taken the leap. It’s all very real now. Hurrah!

How long are you planning on being in Australia and where will you be? Sydney? I will likely be in Singapore for two+ weeks around time you are getting to Australia
I will be flying into Sydney around September 17. From there I hope to go to the Red Center and Cairns/Great Barrier Reef, but if you happen to go to Singapore via Sydney I’m sure I could delay for a couple days. Or meet you up top in Darwin? That would be such fun! I’ll probably be in Australia six weeks total.

I’d love to! I’ll be in New Zealand at that point, so it seems unlikely, but maybe you’ll be flying home via Auckland or something. Definitely let me know how your accommodations and activities are in Thailand, as I’ll be there in about February.
