Last week I reviewed Let X at Strawdog Theatre. Nothing Special Productions put on this show, and it was a fun one to watch. It’s a brisk 70 minutes of meta narrative, including characters talking directly to the audience, a character coming out of the audience to join in the action onstage, and a clothing rack gliding down the aisle as a train. That it does fall apart isn’t a flaw, it’s is the whole point of “Let X,” that authors only have so much control over their creations, and the story resulting from a plot gone awry can be more interesting than the original.
